Kay was born at her parent's home in Edinburgh at 5am.
There's a wonderful hand-coloured photograph of her aged about two which I've put on the 'gallery'.
I found this wrapped in brown paper and string under the stairs at her home in Hamble.
I'd be very grateful for any information anyone may like to contribute, so that I can include dates and details of the events that shaped Kay's life.
Kay died very sudddenly and unexpectedly at her home in Hamble.
She had recently come back from visiting her long-term friend, Neil, in China.
Some of her friends say that she hadn't felt well for some weeks.
I first met Kay when she joined the Go-Getters group, a group of mature ladies and one man, learning Computing, Crafting, and having fun. She was an enthusiastic member and was well loved by all. Time for Me followed on with a larger group and different activities. Please imagine Kay doing Tai Chi, but as ever she thoroughly enjoyed it. I met her many times when the course ended. We did some card making together, and beading which Kay was very good at. I will miss Kay, she was much admired and loved by everyone she met. Doris

Kay had a very quiet funeral yesterday (June 21st) at Southampton Cremetorium.
There was just myself and Jean Street (one of her closest friends) present.
From conversations we had with friends she'd discussed her funeral with, we understood that Kay had wanted a very quiet ceremony.
And had even said that she didn't want anyone there. But we felt it important to pay the respects of both her family and friends.
The memorial we're holding for Kay next Friday (29 June) will give her many friends an opportunity to get together and celebrate her life.
We are holding an informal 'memorial' for Kay to which all her friends are invited.
It will be from 3pm on Friday 29th June in a room at the British Aerospace factory social club, which is at the bottom of the road Kay lived on - Kings Avenue in Hamble.
If anyone would like to come, please email Kay's sister-in-law, Valerie; valerie@stirling.org.uk.
My name is David Stirling.
I started this online tribute to my Aunt, Kay, today.
I'm Kay's eldest nephew - son of her brother, Walter, who died some 26 years ago.
Together with my sister, Kate, and my brother Richard, we are her only remaining blood-relatives.
Kay's many friends are very welcome to contribute thoughts and messages to this site.
Over time, I'll post a few more photographs and other messages.
Please email me at david@stirling.org.uk if you'd like to get in touch.
Best wishes
David
Many thanks to everyone who came to Kay's home on Friday to share their thoughts and memories of her.
Kay would have had a chuckle at the last minute change of venue which saw us carrying trays of sandwiches from the community club to her house just down the road.
The change was because we had far more people coming than we originally thought. And fire regulations meant the room would have been too small.
But in the event, it proved a blessing in disguise as the weather cheered up and we were able to use Kay's garden.
Thanks to everyone who said a few words.
I'm sure Kay would have enjoyed some of the memories - especially from her friends from Griegs Academy.
